OK here they are...who wants UK (like) clears? (Edit w/new pics)

I have been messing with the correct color to tint clears to match the UK corners. I have come up with the right mixture.

I can make them darker or lighter...depends on what you want.

The picture I have is a little darker than the UKs but it wouldnt be hard to lighten it up.

The tint is mixed with the clear and then sprayed onto the light. It will not fade...sell maybe over years it will because it is just automotive paint. You can wax it if you like to keep it nice and new looking.

If you are interested then email me and I will do them for you.

I am asking $40 which includes shipping back to you. You will have to ship me your clear corners and I will spray them and send them back within 2 days. My wife (I say wife because she does most of the ebay stuff) and I have good feedback on eBay and I have several people that know me on this board so I assure you that I will not rip you off and keep your corners.

Let me know.

This pic is right after I sprayed the corner. I will get more when it dries and I can move them. I sat the UK corner by it to show the difference. It has a lot of reflection in it and is not a real good pic but again I will get some more later...I was just excited that I got them so close on my first try with the new mixture that I had to go ahead and get a pic and post this.

EDIT: Just so you know the amber piece on these and the top is taped up. I will only tape up the black edge on the clear corners I do.

I had an old set of clears but cant seem to find them. I know it kinda throws it off with the amber corner.

What about tinting a set of clear corners off ebay to match the UK corners (dark tint over the orange part on the stock corner, light tint over the clear part)?

yeah thats kinda the point...I dont have any clear corners to tint right now to get pics though so I tinted some factory ones to show what I can do. When I get some clears I will tint them and post pics.

Dunno, to me it looks like you need more black in the color, it looks kinda gray/cloudy compared to the real UK corners, especially the first pic.

Man there is no way to make it exact because it is a spray on the plastic and not actual tinted plastic like the UKs...the UKs are actually a grey and not black tint. Plus the first pic was just after I painted them and the clear hasnt dried...it was a bad angle and such and that is why I took other pics. Trust me in person you can see that they are real close. Like I said in my previous posts. They arent exact but unless you have a set of UK corners to compare them to side by side (which is why I did them side by side) you will not be able to tell.

EDIT: for removing uncalled for text lol and also to add this:

I can adjust the tint some if someone is willing to have a darker lens. I am just trying to match as close as I can and let them emmit enough light to be right. You can go overboard and tint them black but unless you do it real dark they will look bronze instead of smoke. Trust me I have played with this enough in the last week and a half to say that the color I chose is close enough to be the best choice.

another shot of them both on but with the flash this time

this is the tinted corner with the turn signal on:

and lastly the UK with the turn signal on:

well thats the problem. I dont want to get into buying clears and tinting them to sell. It would be difficult for me to do that since I am limited in my budget at the moment (wife has kinda put a hold on my buying since Christmas is not too far away and I have 2 small children).

Thats why I ask that people send me their corners.

I realize this will be dificult for some since they will not have their factory corners to put back on.

After I do a few I will be able to buy a pair or 2 to tint and sell but I will just charge what the corners cost me + the tinting so it would be just like someone buying a new pair and sending them to me to tint.

it would be illegal to tint the headlights right? perhaps to match the uk clears, but now that i think of it would distort the light coming out....

Yeah. If you want, you could do the AE thing for your headlights. It looks really good and would probably match these corners.

awsm66 did this on one of his maximas, pics are on his homepage I think
if not, search and you can find it

Buy corners from Michael since tons of people are always asking where they can get UK corners and these look really good. I know Michael does really good work and is trustworthy so I'm sure they look even better in person.

Thanks Craig!!!

Yeah I did the AE thing a while back like Craig said. It looks really good in person and blends well with the UK corners...Here is a pic:

I can tint the headlights too but it will hurt the light output. I have a friend that did this on his car and it looked good but the only driving he does is in the city so its not a big deal.

I was gonna ask you about the headlights. How much does it affect the light output? Would you be willing to do this if the price is right!?

Yeah I can do them. It does look good but I just worry about the light output.

Here is a picture of my friends Integra with JDM 1 piece headlights that are tinted:

that gives you an idea of what it would look like. I wouldnt charge much more. maybe 10 or 15 more to cover the shipping of the headllights. So 50 or 55 for the headlights. I may have a headlight that has a hole in it I would be willing to tint is some are interested. I can probably do it tomorrow.

Here is one problem you may have not thought of though. Would you be able to be without your lights for a week? You would have to ship them to me and between shipping and the tinting it would probably be a week you would be without your lights.

I figure its hard going without your corners for a week but your headlights would be a major pain. I am not going to buy headlights to tint and sell thats for sure because they are so expensive and by the time I got them and tinted them they would be way more expensive for someone to buy...I mean why would you spend a couple hundred on the factory lights when you can get e36 lights cheaper.

They don't match my "beemers" (sold those about 6 months ago) but they are my poor man's answer to buying the European corners I love so much. They don't warp or come apart as long as you seal them back correctly.

Not bad! But I thinl I like awsm66's tinting better. I like the idea of having the entire corner tinted. Thanks!

i have a set of stock headlights for sale, if there is enough interest, you could purchase them from me for $40+what i talked to you about on AIM(i'd like to keep that quiet, at least for now) a few days ago and charge $5-10 more for the headlight tinting to cover your costs, plus there wouldnt be any downtime for those buying the tinted lights from you. thats IF there is enough interest.

Quick Reply: OK here they are...who wants UK (like) clears?
