Trans Valvebody Upgrade

Can any transmission shop do this or should it be done by a specialist ? I dont know who to send it to once I get it off...Those of you who have had it done give me your suggestions with prices and service. Want gains at the track so tell me what all I need to do to my slowmatic trans.

Do a search!

It has been recommended that you send it out to be done by a specific shop that specializes in this. www.maximumtuning.net
Check with Aaron92se he has a VB mod on his car and appears to be very knowledgeable about it.

Look up "auto transport" in the yellow pages.
But as he said "I dont know who to send it to once I get it off..."
means to me that he knows he has to remove the VB to have it modded not the whole car silly!

Yeap, you can do a search and I've talked about it many times before. But, internetautomar is right about where you need to go. I would ONLY trust Maximum Tuning with my valve body. You remove your own VB and then overnight it to them, a day later, they overnight it back and you install it. It's a project you have to be very meticulous about or you can experience leaks where the VB mounts to the casing. Or if you live in the Long Island, NY area, just simply drive to their shop and a couple hours later, you're SET.

Oh yeah, while I'm typing, I might as well answer your questions. If you are doing this mod strictly for the gains at the track, then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. If you want firmer, faster, crisper shifts, then this is the mod for you. I have had this mod for a year now and it's AWESOME still. Every day I drive my car and i LOVE how it shifts. In the 1/4 mile, I shaved probably 1 full tenth. I doubt I shaved more. Don't believe the bull crap claims of Don Cooper in Texas aka MobileTek. The only way you can shave 5 tenths or so in the 1/4 mile is if you have a 150 shot on a slipping tranny.

Oh yeah, which brings me to my next point, don't do this mod unless you have a functional tranny. If you experience slipping shifts, then this mod can make the slipping even worse. But if you have a functional tranny, then it will make the shifts faster and less slippage, which will greatly reduce the wear on your clutch packs.

Oh crap I didn't know it was on Long Island. They do the Y-Pipe for 60 bucks! Midas wanted 120! I just may drive down there.

Yes people have tried it and it's not considered a performance modification. It just slightly firms up the shifts. SLIGHTLY! The transgo kit just reduces slippage which adds life to the tranny. If you want a firm 1-2 and 2-3 shift, then Max Tuning is the ONLY way to go. Do a search, Trans-Go has been talked about an aweful lot whenever a VB mod has been brought up.
