!Bad engine problems, please help me ORG!
OK guys, first let me say that it drove normal last night, and Id say the only thing that could of happened was something rain related Id imagine cause thats all that happened to the max while she was parked. Anyways, so I start her up, and she is idling very rough, vibrations are relative to the RPM, at about 1K and 3K+, smooth as a babys butt through 2K. I can hear it putting out the muffler too. I pop the hood and feel around on the valve cover and can feel a little vibration going on. I let her warm up before testing the RPM's and she still did it. Any ideas guys? something wet? I have work tomorrow and im praying that its just a temporary thing. please post up if you have any clues...

If your car had a cap I'd say you had a cracked cap. But since you don't I'd suggest disconnecting the coils 1 at a time and see if 1 of the coils doesn't cause a change if you find 1 that doesn't remove the coil and look for cracks.

Well that sounds good but the fact is I am a n00b at the car stuff, and I dont know how to do any of that. First off, why would any of that stuff happen over night? And also, is it possible that this is a wet problems that might dry out and be working fine the next day? If this is a problem that I cant fix, I'm gonna have to take it in, so I wanna know what to ask them...

1.Look at your engine
2.See the 3 round things in the middle of the front Valve cover?
Each one of those is a coil for a front cylinder.
3. See the 3 round things in the intake towards the back of the engine?
Each one of those is a coil for a rear cylinder.
4. One by one disconnect the electrical harness from each one.
IMPORTANT! oNLY DISCONNECT ONE AT A TIME DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN ONE DISCONNECTED AT ANY TIME
5. Now you have hopefully found no change when you disconnected one of the coils but you DID see a change when the rest of them were disconnected.
The one that DIDN'T cause the change is the cylinder that is causing the problem.
Then it will either be a coil or an injector.
To check either one check the stickies for the chilton with testing specs

I sell 10x more injectors than I do MAFS which is still way more than I sell of coils. Actually I can't remember the last time someone asked me for a VE coil.
Nissans side feed injector is a garbage design so it tends to have a higher than normal failure rate. Most injectors plug up with gunk. The nissan just burns out.

btw, not trying to take the thread off topic, even tho i through in an idea cuz it sounds like u have the same problem that happened to me. but anyone with a fast VG, i would like to talk to u cuz i wanna get mine running pretty good, thanks.

no, the ecu will cut the fuel at a certain rpm so it won't rev any higher. the only way to get it to over rev would be to, like i said, be driving fast and accidentally shift into a lower gear instead of a higher gear forcing the engine into a high rpm. and besides, i know the vg's are good for 7000 rpm. i'm sure the ve's can take that much or higher so it would be pretty hard to over rev these things.

if you keep unplugging the coils till your engine speed dont drop then youve found the cylinder thats giving you your problem. Once youve found it turn the car off and swap coil packs with an ajacent cylinder, then turn the car back on and check to see if the same cylinder is still not firing if its working now "when you unplug it the engine speed drops" your coils bad if its still the same your injectors bad
