?93max se performance specs?
#3
there's some website (i cant remember now) that has performance specs for every car since like the mid 80's. anyway, it has the ve auto at 16.7 in the quarter mile.....no way my car is that slow. i'd guess that the ve auto probably does a low 16 second quarter mile and probably a little under 8 seconds 0-60. but after the vb mod and tc, i'll be doing low 15's

Don't quote me...........
but according to my "sources"..........
mid 8's 0-60, low(?) to mid 16's in the 1/4th, the auto to manual tranny "power loss" must be what makes the big difference between the two models times.

my 93 auto..
The time I ran the 1/4....I was doing a 10.4 in the 1/8th and pulling 16.1's in the 1/4...this was at a 1/4 mile track. Another time I ran at a 1/8th mile track and pulled a 10.1. Very inconsistent you might say, but I was satisfied considering all I could ever do in the 1/8th was a 10.4, and out of the blue, pulled a 10.1....I had 18" rims on at the time too.

Heres the deal(or how I see it)......
one reason why I hate bringing up posts like this is because everyone stops believing in their car performance. and remember racing is all about the driver and there is NO WAY times can be consistent and should be applied to each and every car! no you won't get smoked by an accord unless you just plain can't drive.....I have a 91 GXE 160hp VG, whooped too many Accords 2+ car lengths for the autos and 2 flat for the sticks, but I don't equate that to every Accord I meet for the simple fact that each guy I race drives differently! Just remember times make no difference, I think it comes down to the following:
1. the overall technical condition of your car(tuning, maintenence, etc.)
2. overall HP rating
3. how good a driver you are
here is how I see it, today stock for stock Vtec only does wonders for Integras and Preludes! Civics and Accords seemed to have gotten the short end of the "Vtec stick" and from my experience tend not to "pull" as hard in higher speeds as their more "sportier" counteraprts!!!
auto VE max is most likely in the high 7's mid 8's, remember the transition between manual to automatic tranny cause a slight amount of HP to be lost through the drive train!! dont get discouraged just keep modding and remeber you have an AUTOMATIC MAXIMA its not a 15 sec(or less) 5spd. SPORTS CAR!!
and just to boost the morale of this post, remember.....CIVICS(expect '99Si) ARE SLOW, there is no getting around it no matter how you look at it!!

i didnt stop believing in my car's performance, but those numbers do seem a little high to me. i'll clock my car tomarrow with the help of some friends and let you guys know what it is. if it is 8.8, then i guess i'm wrong. but we'll just have to seep

8.8 does sound a little high. I had a VERY hard time finding performance numbers for the Auto VE's.. I only had one source for the Auto VE's.... so I'm sorry if you feel that the 8.8sec 0-60mph is too slow. This is all the information I had. This means you guys should take your stock Auto VE's and test them out and let me know what your results are. My e-mail is SkyMaxSE@aol.com.
