problem need help!!

problem need help!!

my axle went out on me and i got it replaced then drove it for a day then the same axle went out again...anyone know whats the problem here or any suggestion..my mechanic was tellin me the problem might be the gear box..so he gonna open it up and see..what u guys think

well he didnt say...i was at a stop light it turned green i put it in 1st gear to move off and i just hear pop and it jumps out of gear and the grease leaks out under the bottom and when i hit the gas i hear somthing spinning loose under the bottom of the car...and it did this twice

uhhhh, this is probably not the axle. more like a bad suspension problem that's causing the axle to pull out of the tranny.
check control arm bushings, strut mounts, ball joints, and engine mounts.

hmmm..never thought of that....but i will have them check those...maybe thats the problem too...cuz i do need new suspension but am gettin it lowered so am waiting on some cash...

how much did you pay for you maxima again..?? not to trash you, but you was low balling every one here to get a good max for cheap. Have you done any maintaince stuff to the max.,.?? make sure you check it all out.. remember our max are very old. i hope that the next time around, you will spend the extra money to get a maintained max.. good luck.. I hope that all goes well in the future

I do know on my buddy's caravan he ate 4 axles, before they found out his subframe had cracked.
Replaced the subframe and viola' no more axle failure

oh ok well right now we checking everything u guys mentioned so thanks for the inputs...but i mean if i put a new axle in yesterday i didnt drive for more than 3hrs can that new axle eat that fast?...i think its new still but it keeps dropping out for some reason

well yeah thats true...but i did tell them to check into what u mentioned i appreciate it..hey how much would a gear box cost me if i should need one and how much for an axle including shipping...

If by gearbox you are refering to a transmission.
I can't help you
and I don't sell axles too many headaches with cores
