occasional starting problem

Does anyone here have a solution for my 90 Max SE 5 spd?
First the horn doesn't work when I want to use it, then the alarm starts going off for no reason. I removed the alarm relay switch and both horn and alarm fuses, which cured my alarm problem, temporarily anyway.

Now I get an occasional starting problem. Turn the key and the starter doesn't engage. I have replaced the starter and starter relay, but still when you least expect it, it doesn't start. I can push start it, drive it for a few miles, turn it off. Try to start it again and it starts fine.

I am stummped. Please help!!!
Thx
Pete

sounds like some funky wiring in the steering column. open it up and look around. come back and tell us if anything is out of place
