My max has one of those stupid dealership stickers on the trunk and I want to remove it. Any ideas? I was thinking about waiting until a hot summer day and seeing what a hairdrier did to it. I also was thinking of sanding the "Nissan" written on the rear middle tail light of my 94 max. Has anyone done this successfully and if so are there any tips or instructions?

the hair dryer will work on the emblem.. if it doesnt, then a heat gun should, but be careful not to cook the paint with those (they can get up to 1000F on high)..
be very careful and pry it up with a plastic putty knife or something, so you won't damage the paint.

then use some goo-gone or tar/wax/grease/adhesive remover (even WD-40 will sometimes work).. and rub the extra glue off.
now just wax over the area with the same wax you use on the rest of the car and you're done.

As for the MAXIMA emblem on the trunk, I would personally leave it alone. stuff like that is one of those things where if you're not sure of what to do, then you probably should do it. sanding it off will leave nasty scratches and stuff, but polishing all that out is something many people don't have the experience to do. plastic will burn very easily before it will polish..
if you do decide to do it, good luck.

thanks...

Thanks Matt. I'm at the point where I have no money and I'm just trying to make the car a little cleaner looking. I thought the center rear tail light would look much better with just the Maxima lettering and not the Nissan lettering. For some reason I remember reading about someone sanding these letters off, hmmmmmm, maybe I'm just thinking of something else. Oh well, I'm not going to mess with it since it really hasn't been done before.

Oh and I had just one other idea, I was wondering what gutterguard would look like on the stock grille if you didn't remove the fake chrome bars. I'm too chicken to do anything to the car that cannot safely and cheaply be reversed so I was just gonna play around with having the gutterguard over the stock grille. Maybe if I painted the fake chrome cross bars black and the gutterguard chrome. Any thoughs on how this would look?
