MythBusters Maxima Showdown

Ok guys, after a long 4+ hour debate, we have finally decided to submit a request to the Discovery Channels MythBusters Program. We are addressing an engine dispute, and we have 2 volunteers who will go on the program in order for the hosts Jaime and Adam to use in a head to head competition in an attempt to crack this myth. The myth we are attempting to crack is that between the performance difference between the VE and VG engines. This myth has been around since the VE was introduced in late 1991.

More information on the program can be found here, on the Official MythBusters website:
http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/my...thbusters.html

The participants are davebond007 and KLoWnPR109, listed in alphabetical order.

davebond007's car is the following:

1993 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd
Ground Wire kit
Pop Charger Intake with K&N cone
Redline MT-90 gear oil

KLoWnPR109's is the following:

1989 Nissan Maxima GXE 5spd
Place Racing CAI
Warpspeed Y Pipe
Warpspeed B Pipe
5th Gen Muffler
JWT ECU with Daughterboard..........

Please help us. Who do you think will win the showdown?

Uhhhhh, there's no "myth" there. it's called technology.
the VE heads have much better breathing capability than the VG.
4 valves per cylinder, opposed to 2.
NVCS (VTCs) for more low end grunt
larger air passages on the intake side (note the huge difference in intake manifold design, as well as the area of the VG vs VE throttle bodies)
10:1 compression on the VE instead of 9:1 for the VG.

There's enough for 30 hp or so right there.

shouldnt both engines be stock with no performance upgrades for it to be a fair test of the engines? If they are not stock then should at least have the same upgrades...

I think Klown, just because Dave is a punk *** ho.

PS -- I think the Discovery Channel is laughing louder than all of us at your silly little dispute as they ponder real myths like where is Jimmy Hoffa and where the tread goes off of tires.

the ve will win against klown
where does the tread off tires go?
didn't bruce almighty discover hoffa?

we should have the competition between
90SEBlack - na/auto/vg/178whp and a lightly modded ve such as davebond.
then we'll have a show down.
