I want an airhorn!

Ok, on a lot of cardomain sites I see people with these airhorns they use as their car horn. I've had airhorns before and they kick ***! But can anyone tell me how much this will cost/what tools are needed/what parts are needed? I've seen something that I needed a compressor and all other crap...any help/pics/instructions?

Air horns suck, they are usually a nasty high frequency.

Get Hella Supertones, they are even louder than air horns, and they are a much better sound. The set that I have is 300Hz/500Hz, most air horns are much higher in frequency, like 700Hz/900Hz. The hella supertones work the same way the stock hornes do, but they are much more powerful, and no compressor is needed.

I have a police horn in my truck but it is a bit oversized (combined large lows horn and smaller highs one) ... it is legal and loud enough

i have dual trumpet air horns and they're okay. the horn is too high pitched for me. but there's no way i can fit a boat air horn into my front end. so i'll live with the coffee truck horns.
eric93se - if the hella super tones are in fact trumpet air horns. how do they not need a compressor? the ones i've seen/heard had a compressor and they sounded just as high pitched as mine. i'd like to have an airhorn that didn't need a compressor. my compressor is soooo freakin loud!
it sounds like a supercharged vibrator man!

Maybe you missunderstood my reply. They are'nt air horns, they are the same design style as stock horns (no compressor). Loud as hell, I'd reccomend using the supplied relay and wire it up well. The stock positive wire running to the horns is way too small.

THe horm comes with instructions (normally) It basically amounts to makind sure you have one side grounded and the other hooked to a relay that is tripped by the horn.
and yes we do tend to go OT alot that's half the fun!
and when you were able to search that was where the most useful info was to be found

if you get one with a compressor - keep the hose away from a radiator.
and don't forget that horn(s) sould be directed to the ground - otherwise nobody would be able to hear a great sound of your new air horn
