What size are you getting? Nupe will say anything but #1.
I like #1 because a 5 spoke is always nice on a 3rd gen. But I like #3 as well. A friend of mine has some similar to those and they look pretty nice on his car (camry)

#1 reminds me a little too much of ford mustang gt wheels from 99+, and looks a little bland in silver paint. My mom's 99 Maxima GXE was bought used, and came with #2 in 16inch style, I like them on her 4th gen. I think they look nice and sporty, and they seem good quality. I like the polished lip. Those rims posted on the links are similiar, but not Identical. I've considered number 2 style if I ever up grade. Don't laugh, but I also like pepboys proline by ensure 478 style, but the paint seemed to chip on their display model. I also like the Z racing type 11 at sears.com. Most of the ones I've looked at have been by cheapest price.

Hey I was in pep-boys and saw #3 in gunmetal and boy let me tell ya that it really caught my eye. I wasn't to fond of the silver finish. If you want my opinion in the finishes you supplied I'd have to say #1-#3 then #2. But if they're 17x7 then any one you choose should look nice.

given the 3 choices you have up there I would say #3 would be my first choice but if I were you I would get 17x8's and put 235/45's on them. The reason I dont like 2 is because I am not fond of multi lug wheels (too many holes for my taste) and with 1 you have to deal with the caps.

Hey my car has a 1.8" drop with sprint springs. I couldn't go any wider than 215 on my Max. So if you plan on doing a similar drop dont go with 235's ![ThumbsUp](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

no no no no. You couldnt go wider BECAUSE of the offset of your wheel. I am low too with Intrax and I have no problems with 225 and can fit 235s easily. When I get new tires I will be getting 235s.
Remember people the width of the tire and rim is all about offset.

I've heard that before and even tried posting a thread to give me an idea of how i can get a wider tire. I purchased 225's because I thought that was a safe number but the didn't clear. My wheels have a 40mm offset but even with the the 40mm offset and the 225 tire I could feel that it would either rub on the 1/4 panel or on the strut. I thought maybe people bent their 1/4 panel to make a wider tire fit and I dint want or have the time to do that once the tires were mounted. I didnt want to take that chance.
I guess my question is what is your offset awsm66? ![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Ok, I got all the information about my tires and stuff from my dad...can anyone tell me what these specs mean...I know I'd probably get a 17x7, I know the 17 is the diameter of the wheel and the 7 is how wide the tire is right? I know i have a 5x4.5 lugnut/offset? is that what its called...I know the 5 is for how many lugs it uses and i think the 4.5 is the space between them? And all this 215/225/235 stuff? I think it has somethin to do with the tire? Can anyone help me? The more I know the better!

example 205/65/15
205 = section width (total width of rubber, including tread and sidewalls)
65 = aspect ratio (expressed as a % i.e. 65 % of 205 is sidewall)
15= Rim diameter
Offset is a # all by itself.
You also have to take into account center bore diameter
the 5 x 4.5 is 5 lug with 4.5" center of lug 1 to center of lug 3 measurement
205 = section width (total width of rubber, including tread and sidewalls)
65 = aspect ratio (expressed as a % i.e. 65 % of 205 is sidewall)

section width is measured in MM and offset is the distance between the rear edge of the rim and the mounting pad of the rim. (the part your lugs go through)
5 x 4.5 is your bolt pattern
5 x 4.5 is your bolt pattern

actually the measurement of the wheel studs are only center to center on even lug wheels...such as 4 or 6. For 5 lug wheels it is from the center of 1 to the outer of 3. Sounds weird I know but that is how I have always done it. I know Summit has how to measure them in their cataloge with pics but am not sure if they do on line.

It was interesting to see how this thread played out. ![Rolling on floor laughing](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
And Michael, you're right.... I'd so pick anything but #2 or #3.
DMad8724- Since you've narrowed your selection to either #1 or #2, by default I'd say.... get #1!![EEK!](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Before anyone asks me why, here's my reasoning:
Here's mine, for reference (beat up as they are):

Before anyone asks me why, here's my reasoning:
- It's the most "common" look for a 3rd gen - look around and the pics speak for themselves...
- Heaven forbid you'd want to stand out from the crowd.

Well I've decided go with #1 in a 17x7...I think it looks good on my car and I realize I am "going along with the crowd" but living in Iowa, the crowd of 3rd gens is about 5...so not that big of deal, when I get them I will post pics, and of course when I get them on my car!

maybe you should look online at some of the tire/wheel outlets. You can find some that you might like better, be in 17, and cheaper even with shipping.
I know AE rims from Sears can be over priced some times. I havent really looked lately but there are so many deals online that I dont see why you cant find something you like better and be cheaper.
Good luck with what ever you do.
