resistor mod question.......

resistor mod question.......
Heard some stuff about a resistor mod that sounded interesting and this is basically what I got from it:
it is a resistor mod that keeps the knock sensor from changing the resistence based on the input it gets from the motor and then is sent to the ecu. The resistor mod just tricks the ecu into thinking everything is ok......and so on....
I've been told you can get them pretty cheap and can give a slight HP gain.
I'm just curious if anyone knows about this, a writeup and how to do it and also if it matters what gas you use.......
.......Just a curious guy here

If the Knock sensor is dead, then the resistor mod is a band-aid until you can replace it. that's IT. It shouldn't be used for a permanent thing, and it won't give you any HP over a knock sensor that's working properly.
