SOHC to DOHC Engine Swap

Ok guys....I have a 94 GXE which is in nearly showroom condition...a friend of mine has located me a '94 SE DOHC engine which had 3,500 miles on it before a garbage truck took the tail end off the car, thus totaling it. Will it be terribly difficult to do an engine swap? I know that I will need the ECU to go along with the engine, because it is totally different than the SOHC....is there anything else that I am not thinking of?

Yes
Transaxle - the VE30DE came with a different automatic transaxle complete with viscous limited slip or 5-speed. In short, I'm not certain if your GXE auto transmission will mate up to the VE30DE engine. In the end, I think you'll find it's cheaper to trade in for a showroom condition SE.
If the whole front of that SE is available to you, you should be able to do it with the right shop. Call around and see if anyone is interested.
There is always someone a little nutz that is willing to do work like this......

Hmm if he took the entire wiring harness then->
it might be possible. I think the trannies would swap fine but I'm not 100%. I can't see Nissan making different bellhousings or tranny dimensions for the VG and VE maxima. The fact that they have diff p/ns doesn't mean they won't swap.
