Another Grommet Question

Alright as some of you know I've been trying to find the best location to run my audio power cable from the battery to the interior of the car. Some of you have used the fender and fed it through the existing grommet there.

Well I removed the wheel well cover and I now have access to that grommet however, it is like completely filled with wires. How am I supposed to fit a 4 gauge wire through this?

To see the pic you must copy and paste this link in your browser(cheap free hosting... sucks!): http://jaguax.1accesshost.com/grommet.jpg

That is the correct grommet right? But how am I supposed to fit my wire through it? What about drilling a hole somewhere around it? Is that an option?

I'm getting desperate here, I don't want my car to be sitting in the garage forever, I just wanna get this cable into the car! So please help if you can. I really appreciate it.

I took a pair of needle-nosed pliers and shoved them on the side of the grommet, and twisted them back and forth. This created an opening big enough to get my power cable through (though I had 8 gauge, not 4). It also helps because you can see the pliers poke through on one side, which makes pulling the cable through the grommet easier. Hope this helps.

Yeah I figured it out, I thought it was metal but turns out the whole thing is rubber. So I took a screwdriver and made a hole in the side. I pushed the wire through and walla I saw it in the car. Yay!

Now, what do I need to do to run it underneath the carpet? Unscrew the foot step things and lift the carpet?

Yeh, usually the easiest way. Mine is actually ran through a little hole in the firewall and connects to the 4 channel under the passenger seat... Lots of different ways wire can be ran.
