is it safe to put that hot H.I.D bulb in the e36 headlight housing without melting the headlight housing itself, I already know what TYPE of bulb. Thanks again.

 

so far, I haven't seen too many people with problems melting housings with HID conversions....... but you never know.

check the E36 boards and see what they say. there's a lot more E36 guys with HID conversions than Maximas with E36 AND HID conversions.

go to google and spend a bit of time looking for BMW forums. I bet you'll find a few.

 

hids should be fine because they don't get nearly as hot a 9005/9006 bulbs. and a regular wattage halogen bulb won't melt the headlights, so HID lights will be a-okay.
