Gauge Lighting Problem!!!

Hello All,

I've got a bit of a problem that I thought you all might be able to help me with... It's kind of a coincidence that tonight I was going to change my gauge lights and shifter lights from stock to blue that they just stopped working...

They worked today when the sun was out, but tonight when I got in my car and turned the headlights on...the headlights and dash lights came on but no shifter or gauge lighting. I figured it was just the lights burning out or a fuse...but...when I used my keypad remote the lights would all flash as they normally do. So the lights aren't burned out after all.

I'm going to get all new red lights for the shifter and gauges tomorrow but if anyone has any idea why I can't get them to turn on when I turn my headlights on I would appreciate it!!

check fuses. check all electrical functions to make sure that they work, such as radio, turn signals, tail lights, cornering lights, seats, brake lights, etc. Maybe it is the switch, as the stalk does wear out. But check fuses and functions first. Is your car stock, or have you done any other mods including lights or radio? check the dimmer switch also.

I'll give those fuses a check...which ones are they?? I looked at the fuse box cover and I was confused as to which it would be...
Radio, turn signals, tails, and corners all work...
I thought it might be the stock headlight switch, the headlights come on but the speedo doesn't.
A wierd thing is that the dimmer switch doesn't do anything when I brighten/darken with it!?
The car isn't stock...huge stereo, rewired lights, strobes, neons, TV/PS2 and many more...

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!

Red Flag: rewired lights
The dimmer switch may be fried.

Where's the switch

The lights were rewired a long time ago and I didn't have any problems...I guess it just may have gone bad. Anyway, where is the part of the dimmer switch I have to change to make it work?? Do I have to change the whole switch from the button back??? Or is it just from the button back to the headlight switch? Thanks again!!

I got the clear corners rewired to always stay on as bright as the headlights, the sidemarker light on the cornering light to blink with the turn signals, strobes and such, and the tail-light rewires...

hehe that's a lot of rewiring. i would suspect a fuse since the rewires can put more stress on the system. check your fuses!

well since i'm going to be the one that has to fix this problem i'm willing to guess it's one of the wires or the switch. oh and i have all the pics of the nitrous/fuel system install but need a place i can post them with a walk through and maybe it could be stickyed since the pics are more helpfull them any i've seen.

Well, the cornering lights don't work...so it's probably one of those wires or the switch, or a fuse...

My cousin, Nightryder, is a genius...he's done all the work to my car...hopefully he can get this one all fixed up.

I'm going to swap these lights out for red one's once this all gets fixed...

And the nitrous/fuel system is totally beautiful!!!
