piezo question

I want to install a chirp for my keyless entry that sounds like the Toyota beeps. Can I just hook the - to the output of the keyless entry and the + to 12V?

Thanks.

Are you talking about an aftermarket keyless entry, or the OEM keypad thingie??

Crimestopper 845 RKE

I bought a piezo buzzer from Radioshack. 86dB, 3500hz. Should be a high pitch right?

That should be decent, as far as sound. But you can't hook it directly to the (-) output. It won't push it. You'll need a relay:

85 - to the brown/white wire on your 845 RKE
86 - 12v fused
87 - 12v fused
87a - not used
30 - to the 12v wire on the buzzer

I believe that should do the trick!
