Interior REVAMPED SEE PICS

www.geocities.com/azmalu/interior.htm
Guys I finally got it done made decisions on my colors and love it. The looks a little dark and less bright in person. Now since Im gettin insurance money my paint job will be done even sooner. Tell me what you think. 370 for labor including seats inserts and reinstalling carpet. 100 bucks for material. and damn does it feel comfy.

Nubianpupe:I had actually explored this a year ago, back when I realized there was NO WAY on God's green earth I was gonna get this darned stain out of my back seat. And coupled with the fact that I really don't like leather much would facilitate me doing something different. I like that blue/black combo, but I'd personally opt for a slightly darker, more subtle blue - maybe along the lines of a midnight blue/CF grey combo.
I can't give you much insight on it, but I DO wish you luck in your endeavor.

Anyone interested in the katzkin interiors?
I can setup an account with them if interest is there
Posted by azmalu - Today at 04:52 AM
hey yall none of the fabrics i have pictures of UNINSTALLED are actual leather. these avg btwn 7-10 per yard and our car needs about a total of 15 yards for all seating area and inserts. surely it will be done by end of next month. now its just deciding and saving up the 300 dollars for labor. Im havin injectors all replaced this week so this is next project.

real leather for 300 bucks I wish ....people look at it think its leather even sitting on it doesnt feel bad plus it has new car smell but its definiley not the padding underneath makers up for it though. the material i used cost 8.00 per yard the damn carpet was more expensive that thing cost me 150 online plus paid the guy 50 to have it installed. I pulled out the old stuff almost attempted to do that my self but I am very glad I didnt fkkn impossible !!!

Looks good but I will give you a little advice. I noticed on your page you said you wanted to go to the metal.

I would advise against this. I did it and wish I hadnt. It is a huge pain and costs more because you have to add another layer of primer (epoxy primer) which wouldnt be needed if you didnt go to metal. As long as the milage of the paint isnt too thich it is fine and prefered by many to just prime over the existing paint and go from there. If the car just has factory paint and has never been re painted you should be fine painting over it...most paint products are compatible with factory paints and you will not have any lifting problems (especially if done correctly).

trust me its not worth it for you to do the sanding to bare metal (a whole lot of work) and isnt very cost effective to have someone do it at a shop.

yeah its going on factory paint. i just figured it would be a better job if doen that way. in regards to it being "baked on" and it is factory paint . Its been in arizona heat all its life thats why i was concerned about painting over it.

Hey, I've been trying to generate interest in the GD forum for the leatherseats.com GD. Leatherseats.com is a Katzkin interior. Its just going slow. Everyone want to "wait until summer".

So yeah, if you have the interest in setting up an account so we could see pricing, I'd be interested...

yeah rear deck will be redone. that was a job i did before i thought i was going to change car interior. when i did interior i had to pull out rear decks so nothin is back together. im really glad i redid sound improved i thought i was also going to get rid of rattle by using the foam underneath but it didnt fix it. so i think im going to use some rubberrized undercoating this time. plus i need to create some kind of mount for rear brake light......when i redid it the factory mount no longer worked. has anyone modded the rear break light or have any suggestions on how to do that ?

you could get the 3rd brake light from a car that has it up on the roof liner. all you'd have to do is run some wiring up the c-pillar and plug and play. i'll be doing that this summer when i finish off my interior. just a suggestion.

You could get real creative and just put the third brake light behind the plastic on the trunk lid.
Or mold one in above the plastic into the trunk lid.
Maybe in the shape of the nissan symbol

the se maximas didn't have one because they came with a spoiler equipped w/3rd brake light. but unfortunately its common to see them w/o spoilers because of the buggers rusting or the cheaper ones that became really soft from getting too much sun.
not having a 3rd brake light is one of those offences that cops with nothing to do ticket you for.
i wouldn't stress it too much man.

and Id say a monkey from six flags ate my wing and I havent had it replaced yet.

I really doubt a cop would notice that anyway Ive been pulled over a bunch of times and gotten tickets for every little thing possible but never for not having a 3rd brake light.

if anyone were to get this ticket it would probably be because the person pi$$ed off the cop so he went searching for things to give a ticket for.
automar is right though, it is a mandatory light. but it's one of those things that is barely enforced...

personally, i'd keep mine because i don't need cops sniffin' around my ride.

Btw, I have heard of a cop giving a no third brake light ticket. It only applies to vehicles 1985 and up, I think...Probably why cops aren't too keen on it, cause they have to be picky about it.

i guess it really depends on what state/country/province you're in. cops are different everwhere as are the laws.

sorry LMAO finally i see your post i seriously thought that was your name nubianpupe sorry bud .......hey yall i have taken my car to get it painted.(getting a check for 1750) The body shop is saying they can do what user:xrrrcd had done to his trunk lid (removing plastic and welding metal painting it same color as car can be done for 150 bucks) you think its worth it or looks kinda tacky on any car other than red? ....Also for paint its running me about 600 and thats from PPG. Do you think its any better than say for example sherwin williams paint? The toyota code im using is 8m6 PPG code 5436 sherwin williams 56754 ...This will be enough to spray the car with 4 coats and clearcoat after each plus engine bay door jambs and trunk lid. 300 in parts for fender and bumper used and about a grand including paint and labor to get car done. so total of about 1500.

$150? seems kinda cheap to me to shave the trunk I paid $400 or $500, and so does $1500 for painting the whole car with door jams and the trunk lid plus body work and parts.
