actually i was just removing struts and springs....the bolts on the strut tower assembly that can be accessed from underneath was a major pita for me.....the major problem i had though was working without feeling my fingers or toes.....18degrees outside, 21 in the garage. make sure you have power tools..it speeds things up. rent a spring compressor from autozone or buy one from harbor freight.

Should I Do It?

Hi I really am not sure if i should take this on my self. How hard is this? Im an electrical person but I dont feel like dealing with the price of the install. It seems okay to do........but also it seems like a lot of parts to take out and put back and also do I have the MacPherson strut and springs or what? so if i do do this i need the right compressor.

thank you for your time

Yes you do have macphearson struts and you will have to compress the springs. Its not a really difficult job, but compressing the springs is dangerous. You just gotta be careful

$hit, you need to set yourself on fire to keep warm out in this weather.

oh but i already did!! trying to light the tiny furnace my gf's dad had set up, I ignited it with a blow torch and voila! coat and bottle on fire. lol. i blew the flames out though but the furnace didnt do jack. WHen i get my garage, I'm installing a 10k btu furnace in it with 4 space heaters as back up!!

dkris- if it's cold where you, just pay someone to get it done or wait till it warms up. that way you dont have ti rush to get anything out and make mistakes. when i first installed my springs and struts (in the winter of 2002) I left out a caliper bolt mistakenly because i was in hurry to get it over with...drove that way all the way to houston without knowing it. found out the next day and got a replacement from the dealership.
