My problem is the MAF, now buy a new Nissan unit or an A-1 Cardone

Well I swapped MAF's with N34JZ today and my car was running perfectly fine, no popping noise nor hesitation. Now I am thinking should I spend $400 on a new MAF sensor from Nissan or should I just buy the aftermarket A-1 Cardone unit for $190.00. Anyone using the A-1 Cardone MAF. All suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,
Diego

are you crazy or do you just have money flowing out of your ears just get a used one from any junkyard or from here for 20bucks no need to spend that much on such a basic component

Yeah, there are a couple of unfortunate guys who have totaled their Max recently. Since the MAF is the same for the VG and VE, you could probably pick one up a lot cheaper from one of them. 89MaxSE and xvegancowboyx come to mind right away.

LoL, thinking about its crazy. Yea I don't think I will be spending $400.00 on a new sensor. I want the A-1 Cordone I just want to hear from someone who owns one of these sensors.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2457173444

I'm thinking of bidding on this one, so according to what was said above this should work no problem on my VE.

Thanks,
Diego

Diego, I'd just get one from any of our friendly .org-y members that have since sent their Max to the great Maxima Meet In The Sky. I did that about 2 years ago, and haven't heard a peep out of it since.

Just food for thought... you can do the dishes.

Cool guys thanks a lot but I bought the MAF from Paul (Klownpr109) Thanks a lot. In the mean time my ground strap kit and RSB links are being replaced as we speak. Might pick it up and drive it all messed home and park it until I get the MAF from Paul.

Just wanted to thank the whole 3rd gen community for helping me out and suggesting what could of been my problem. Also want to thank my fellow rival N34JZ for coming down yesterday and letting me swap his MAF to my car. Appreciate all the help

Thanks Once Again,
Diego

I have a 93 SE, and I have this BS stalling problem. It does not do it when it's cold, or hot, only after it's been sitting 1 or 2 hours after it's been running for a while. Like tonight after the gym I went to the end of the driveway to the traffic light and it was idling fine and all of a sudden boom! It just died, and I felt like an a$$ sitting there with my hazzards on because it wouldn't start right back up again, it just cranks and cranks and eventually starts. My friend the Nissan tech says there something you cut and ground because there is a resistor there> Anyone ever heard of this?? Or is this the MAF?
Thankyou
Jeff

The bad MAF never stored a engine code? If it didn't store a code I guess it was still operating within in min and max parameters even though it was faulty and the root of your problems.

yea what an annoying problem. I should be getting the MAF tomorrow from Paul. My links should be installed and my ground strap should be installed also. I just want to drive it, it was so nice driving it the ten minutes I had N34JZ's MAF on my car.
