I Need Help Buying A 91 Max!!!!!!

I just seen an excelent condition, not a dent at all, 91 pearl, off white maxima, thats the original paint. It has burgandy leather seats, automatic, full power, sunroof. Im not sure if it has power seats and cruise control. It has the 160hp sohc engine. with 76,000 miles, didnt get to drive it yet, lots of snow here and more on the way. I can feel a little vibration and sound from the engine when idling. Can you tell me if this is an GXE, SE, or GLE, im assuming its a GLE. What is the approximate value of this car? The tailight are the red ones, is there any other red taillight that are available in the 3rd gen, i know the dohc has the smoke tails, the grille on this one is chrome and has a bar in the middle, leaving two openings. This car looks wonderful, I seen this car a few months ago and always liked it and today I saw the for sale sign, he was asking for 2700 then said 2500 so maybe I can push it down some more to about 2200. Tell me what you think.

Thanks,
MAXecutive

theres no gle for the 3rd gen. if it had a keyless entry (keypad) it was a gxe. if not its an se. 76000 miles is pretty good for a car that old. just check the transmission fluid and maybe take it to a shop to get it checked out.

yea it had the keyless entry thing on the door, so that definately makes it a GXE? would this have ABS too? I just remembered it has the cruise control on the steering wheel on the lower right.

ABS was an option, open the hood and look on the right side of the engine compartment.

If you see a pump with brake lines it has ABS if not......

GXE. 76K miles is really good, provided the odometer is actually working. +25 on checking the tranny first. It should be fine with that low mileage, but as was said, some people try to bail when it starts slipping. Vibration/sound from the engine is probably not a huge deal, could be several common things. If the tranny checks out, it's worth 2200 IMO. Of course, nothing's stopping you from haggling...

Plus, you gotta love that pearl white paint...

oh yea i fell in love with that color, looks so good on that body style. they guy is selling b/c he his family cant fit well in the car, he pulled up with his wife, mother, and 2 kids, one is a baby. he has a carseat, so that takes up room and they dont seem to comfortable in the max, he wants a minivan, he said that he was gonna go change the oil today, the engine doesnt show any oil leaks from the top, didnt get to look under the car, too much snow on the ground. its low mileage too, but on the otherhand my 97 MAXecutive has only 36K!!!

so what im confused, so ur saying that a GXE can come with leather, abs, sunroof, and bose? doesnt that like defeat the purpose of having 2 models in the years that only had the sohc engine. correct me if im wrong but i think from 92 up, the SE has the same dohc that my 97 has?

the SE had different wheels, different interior, different color gauges, differently tuned suspension.

The VQ is different than the VE similar but different

oh yea the suspension, does those years have white gauges also, and is the steering wheel different on the 2 trim levels? this 91 has some weird looking steering wheel that looks like the embems have been shaved and everything was molded in, lol.
