Battery dead, car now whacked out!

Help! Last night, my battery went dead - my wife did a current drain test with the pass. side map light - all night... I couldn't charge the battery in the car, so I removed it. I charged it and replaced it - to the blare of my horn. I have triggered the car alarm (stock system) and it activates when I shut it off, when I start it up, when I open the door (power locks don't work), etc. I will probably buy a new battery, but any suggestion as to the rest of the trouble I'm having? Thanks in advance.

When the security system goes off, you need to put your key in the driver side door and turn it. that will shut the system off and rengage your security system so that the car doesn't think it is stolen. so you should disconect the battery then reconect it, and when the security system goes off just put your key in the door and shut it off that way, instead of putting it in the ignition. If that doesn't work check fuses. Do you have any idea why the battery went bad. it might not be the battery, check your alternator. Autozone ore advange auto will do it for free.

hmmm. I haven't had that happen. In fact, when we had all of the snow in January, the Max sat in the garage for about five days with the map light on (my bad!). It totally killed the battery and I charged it on the car. Everything worked fine, except I had to reset my clock, radio, etc.

Maybe it has something to do with your alarm being set. I had left my door unlocked, so it wasn't set when it went dead.

If I were you, I would call a Nissan dealer and ask them. Last time I needed help in Portland, Thomason Nissan was a big help. They were about the most informative and helpful. It has been a couple of years, so I could be wrong on that one.

Good luck.
