question

hi! im new here, and I was hoping someone could help me out. I got my 92 maxima about 6 months ago, and I must say I was quite impressed the first time I drove it. with over 200k mi. it still runs GREAT. but I have had MANY failed attempts to install my stereo from my old car. why cant I get it to work? 6 months with just the stock radio is really getting to me. I bought all the special adapters and everything to go with it...but no luck. and I really dont want to pay someone for something I have always been able to do myself. any help is much appreciated!

I assume you're trying to get around the bose?

don't mess with all the adaptors.. just use your aftermarket head unit and spend a few more bucks on some decent speakers (they're cheaper than the adapters!)... run new speaker wire to each door, and you're set.

Yes, damn bose. Thats what a friend suggested, I was just hoping there may be an easier way around it, cause its near impossible to get behind the door panel. well, thanks.

you don't even have to run new wires depending on how serious of a system you want. you can just splice into all of the speaker wires. be sure to bypass the bose amps and stuff. good luck.

getting behind the door panel is cake.. takes about 5 minutes per door ... once you figure it out anyway..

Look on craig b's page for the how too on window regulators. it's the same steps.
Now that I now where all the screws are and what sizes I can have the door panel off in less than 10.
You can reuse the stock speaker wiring but it will cost you some power.
you will need some sort of adapter to mount the front speakers in the doors though.
The rears are 6x9s though.
any more questions?
