Nice lookin car man. I think it would look even better with a stock spoiler, but that my opinion. Nice job with it.

Hey did they make any white face gauges in NZ with the auto indicator like you have? That would be perfect for my car with my manual shift boot on my auto shifter...that is what those lights are right?...the ones next (left)to the temp and gas gauges.

I want...bad....gotta be white though.

Sorry dudes - that's an inported JDM - NZ / OZ max's don't get the gear indicator in the gauges.
Won't be a direct swap either - the selector replicator unit is part of the inhibitor switch on the transmission. I was looking at retrofitting a Stanza unit to my max & it's a totally possible mod (looks like a Stanza unit from his pix). If I can find a JDM max in a junkyard, it'd save me the trouble...
NZ / OZ / JDM max's don't have white gauges either - that's a US thing which looks kinda cool.

Hey Logan man, that's gotta be the nicest JDM max I've seen - def better than the crappy grey 89/90 models we normally see.

nismobaron can you email me and let me know the info you have for getting this cluster. I dont know what I was thinking last night but I can and will have to swap my gauge faces (kph vs mph) and just use the rest of the cluster.

Thanks,
Michael

In the land of downunder & the land of the sheep, our wheels are on the right side.

Hey Logan, I finally get to see what ure ride looks like! I thought about swapping my org. handles for chrome, but not just yet.

Hey Nismo, there is a guy down here who deals with only Nissan car parts, thats where I got my elect. seats from(by the way they look very nice in my car). He has about 7 or 8 3rd gen. Maxs, I could look into parts for u if u want too. Email me

Hey guys, always cool to hear your comments

the gauge thing is a gear selector as mentioned and yes its JDM, my parent's old NZ maxima didnt have the gear selector. And theres no white guages in NZ either! Infact theres crap all aftermarket parts for maximas here.

all i have done to the car is:
ROH Adrenalin 17x8 wheels + Sava Intensa 235/45/17 tires
Jamex lowering springs (i think thats the brand)
K&N cone filter (love that sound, but want a CAI)
Momo woodgrain steeringwheel
Pioneer Mp3 headunit
JBL GTO 5.25" fronts, 6x9" rears
sony222 amp + lanzaar 12" sub
the rest is stock JDM.

the stock equipment includes:
abs
sonar suspension (which id gladly trade for some nice shocks)
sunroof
leather
power seats
climate air
air purifier
bose cd/tape
folding heated wing mirrors (wtf?)
no airbag/spoiler/foglights/keyless entry?!
its quite wierd, they heaps of the fancy options in and then left some others out.

i really want to get some of the performance parts from the US but it appears to be very expensive to get cheap things like FSTB shipped.

Really want a UDP + y-pipe and another 2/3 inch lower :P.

Hey Logan, the folding heated wing mirrors are for when u need to get through a tight spot, u can hold the mirrors in. Also, use the heat, will defog the mirrors quickly. Only in Japan where they need air purifiers(all the smoking they do)

the red-line on your RPM guage starts at 6500 RPM...is it a VG engine in there? looks like a GXE...cuz the red line starts at 5500 in the US VG i think.

No, ours redlines at 6500 too. Why would a NZ VG redline any different than a US VG?

Actually, he has a VE engine. He has a JDM import, I have a VG since mine is NZ new. Mine redlines at 6000 rpms.

Hey Logan, the place I was going to get bar shipped from was charging me US $48 + the bar for $10. That place was going to rip u off. Hey, A friend of mine is moving down here probably end of year, want me to ask him to get u one?

I think it means Japanese Designed Maxima. I will be getting the indicator for my ride soon. Just have to save enough money to get that & fix my window regulator.

I'm going to try to convince logan to get corners like mine. They are not clear, but better than the orange ones.

I believe I've seen a picture of a Nissan Leopard (Infiniti M30 and J30 over here) with Maxima style gauges which were white and had the gear indicator lights.

Don't get too many Nissan Leopards over here - esp in the junkyard I normally go to (fugly looking cars anyways ). Nissan Primera of similar era (it's a Jap / Euro model that's called something else in the US - maybe badged Infiniti) also has gear replicator lights with the temp / gas gauge cluster although it won't directly fit the max. I'm making a mockup with my spare cluster - looks ugly so far but it'll work...
As fas as having to change the whole cluster over, all you need to change is the temp / gas level gauge, thereby keeping the rpm & mph gauges.
EdzMax has priced a JDM cluster for around NZ$100 which is about right

hey ed if you could score me a VE bar that would be wicked! e-mail/pm off some details if you get round to it , no rush.
Have you ever looked into getting a front spoiler from an NZ silhouette model maxima ? i think i might look into one to make the car look lower, it doesnt look low enough to me and there isnt much clearance left underneath the car.

Clear corners would be cool too, dunno where to get em eheh.

gotta love momo wheels

damn just got beaten by a riced up civic tonight lol, didnt pull very much on me though heh. damn 5 speeders.

Good luck sourcing that in NZ - I'm certain the Silhouette was a pre-facelift model (1992?) ex Australia as it had front foglights which weren't even an option here (foglights & drivers airbag an option in OZ). Tried getting foglights and switch OEM from Nissan & they don't even have a listing!
