me vs tree and dog

i had a lil run in with a tree today, swerved from hitting a dog that looked like mine and lost control of the car, went into two peoples yards and was lucky i only swiped a tree.

ill have pics up tomorrow, i only just got home from the hospital now, with a few cuts and bruises.

My drivers side doors are fudged up, unopenable, and there is no glass left, its all in me. i came out lucky though, glad i put the fstb on there yesterday, it saved my a$$ from flippin or even hitting that tree full on. i was able to grab enough traction to turn away from a head on collision.

cops didnt care too much, one of them was real nice and only gave me a warning since i was doing a lil over the limit, 40 in a 30. they were very nice, the people's whose yard i drove through werent as nice, i only left ruts in their yard and scraped a bush and i have to pay for it, whatever, it sucks coz i only have liability.

pics up tomorrow

Man that sucks, atleast you are ok and no one was hurt. Is the max in bad shape, guess we'll have to wait for pics. Hopefully no frame damage is done, you can find some body parts pretty cheap. I got a cheap fender off of ebay, fits fine. Im really in lost for words, just that i feel for you, were you goin to hit the dog dead on so you had no choice but to swerve. Again glad you are ok and no one was hurt and you didn't get a citation. Best of luck with your Maxima and hope you get it fixed soon.

WOW, sorry man... I guess Matt is right. You must be kinda wishing you hit the dog... Let us know what happens, and start looking at the local junkyards, for some reason the ones by my house are getting filled with Maxima's nowadays...

4000 grand! Holy Mother dude! What car did you buy? A Ferrari installed onto a Lamborghini onto a McLaren onto TWO Porsche GT2s?

Sorry to hear about this, BTW. Glad to know you're okay.

I'll keep an eye out for ya on this side of town. There was a white VE a few weeks ago parked on a lot near me.. I'll run by there again and see if it's still there.

Screw buying the sentra it's missing 2 cylinders!

find a well maintained VE and you can ignore the mileage on it.
Besides miles don't mean squat.
I've had 60k mile cars that were failing apart
and a 4 yr old 115k car that is still running (8 years later) never needed any major work. (dunno how many miles now , I think it's upto 175k didn't ask her when she picked it up the other day)

well i did my best, i couldnt find a car that i liked for the price. did find a nice looking 96, but i drove it and the thing handled for ****. it was like driving a boat.

i got a new car, nothing ricerish. its a 1999 intrigue

yes i bought an oldsmobile, but there are actually quite a few things you can do to the engine. its a 3.8l V6, gets same gas as my vg but a lot better power and suprisingly better handling. ill still be on the lookout for a good ve though, thats my preffered choice

the intrigue wasdesigned to compete with bmws so it should have good handling, I just never cared for the looks and have been too concerned about finding body parts in the future to buy an olds.
of course the 3800 is pretty much bullet proof. It's weak spot is the intake manifold though, it's plastic and does crack $220 list at the dealer $180 from me.

Enjoy the car and let me know when you need parts for it.

looking for a 5-spd, im not messing around with an auto.

the car is very nice, they also make a bunch of straight engine upgrades for it. i found cams, headers, full cat-back exhaust, performance pistons and rings. they also have a couple of body kits for the car. im gonna make the best out of this because its a car you dont usually associate with going fast, but it will
