Help with weird proglem.
Weird Problem
First, have a 92.5 Max (Its part 93 part 92) with NO mods done on it all.
Anyway this is the problem:
My gas tank becomes pressurized. Or lack of pressure or something. Here is the run down:
1. Fill up tank with 92 octane Shell Gas
2. Full tank
3. Race someone or just stomp on the gas about 3500 RPM
4. Car stars running like poop (RPM metter seems to jump, car kinda jumps a little bite bellow 3000 RPM but above it runs fine)
5. Stop car, get out, and unscrew gas cap and there is a loud hissing and air rushes out of the tank.
6. Hand stinks of gas
7. Race again.
Ok, thats the idea, so whats going on with my car? Tune up? I don't have records of any and there are 116,000 miles on it. It doesnt matter how much gas is in the tank or what octane or brand I fill up with.
Thanks
RB

gas system is pressurized
first, you will always get the hissing sound from the tank, it is just releaseing pressure, more so when the tank is close to e. Second there is not enough info to determin the problem it could be a plug, a coil, loss of pressure in the fuel system, a vacume line, my suggestion is to try and do more trouble shooting, check the fuel system line, filter, and also the filler neck has been recalled on some models, make sure that your not actually being sprayed by the gas when releaseing the pressure, if you had more info i might be able to help you with this problem a little more accurately, try to be as observent as possable when experienceing a problem(turn down the stereo, take females head out of lap, ect..)
