porting questions
i wanna port my intake inlet and intake manifold on the intake and exuasht sides i need grit information like wich to use and how much i can remove my self with needing a flow bench any input would be apriciated ..also are the hp gains worth doing it my self or should i pay to have it worked on and get the heads milled bored honed and balanced? if i do decide to preform this my self ill post some pics and maybe get some kind of flow numbers of before and after:P
These arent american V8's, really your not going to gain ****. lol. I wouldn't pay anyone to do it unless they can garentee you some kind of increase. I did a small job on my VE and the throttle body is the only place you'll really see any gains. I dont have any experience porting a VG soooooo.....
I can't wait until Aaron, Eric or Matt see this thread.
I'm really not the fool here. I simply stated it is really not worth it, the gains are so minimal I dont even really remember a difference. When I first did it I thought there was a huge difference, but that is because the first time driving my car after I did the work it was ~27*F out, man that was awesome, but then the next day when it got back to 60* the car felt like normal. Simply saying you really aren't going to see any gains, if you want to go faster, invest in a intake, exhaust, UDP, ECU then move on to nitrous or something, because you will seriously gain more horsepower by driving on a cold day than you will porting the intake runners. (The throttle body on the other hand does have gains).
Also why I'm not the fool:
should be more like:
(although that still is not perfect).....

I dont think there are really any gains stock, however there is a huge support for Z32 ECU tuning (I'm trying to track a few down for a project, if I get it to work right I'll do a huge write up and stuff, if I dont, well oh well, lol
)
