hows our car do vs the competition in comfort, usage, perf?

I was checking out my max compared to my buddy's 1999 camry
and i gotta say I'm damn happy.
I havent raced him yet, that's coming up, but
i think i have a bigger trunk, larger interior,
and i'm able to waay outhandle that car..

got another bud with a 1999 accord ex (4 cyl)
well.... i can outhandle him, even though he
dropped his car with sportlines, the interior
on mine is waaay bigger more comfortable,
and i can whoop his *** with 4 people in my car

i did drive a taurus rental car for a while too.
that stupid duratec v6 is crap, its slow and though
the car is waay bigger, interior quality feels like crap.
the buttons and stuff don't feel right....

do you guys think i can beat the 99 Camry V6LE?
Kinda scared but looking at the specs, i'm slightly
ahead. Also, what have you guys compared the max to?
I'm curious to see how i'd do in race against a 626 v6
and whatever v6 bad boys are out there

the camry comes with a 194 hp on the v6 model, thas the highest engine displacement they have. but the thing is the maxima is lighter, in a way that is good. The camry is heavier for about 200-300 pounds. the camry also has a 3.0. So, these two cars are very close alike. if you want to know more, go here-http://www020.decisionguide.autotrader.com/pl/system/pl.qanda?dyn_sid=348984934887,7,ucar%2Cautotrader% 2Cautotrader&rargs=36,-1,0&qsOffNextPage=36&item=9309&selectedItems=13054 260

i hope this link works
good luck & kick some ***

hmm

I wrecked my boy's 92 V6 LE Camry a couple of times, 2nd gear, and it's over... and my 93 SE is an auto like his...
190 hp VS. 185. I still took him, i don't know, the Toyota trannies are super smooth but the car isn't all that fast.

I've raced against and driven several 626 V6s, they are seriously slow, you should have no problems beating one handily.

and the amazing thing is our cars were out in 1989!! i look at all the pure crap the rest of companies had in 89 and i'm amazed. nissan was almost a decade ahead of the competition. i mean......these cars look like they could be 2k models almost. yep yep.....accords, camrys, and 626's can be quick, but i've never had any problems with them. then again, i do have that ve power.

I thought V6 626's were quicker than you guys say. I almost got a '93 626 ES V6 with a 5spd. I thought they ran like high 15s, low 16s; which would make them faster than VG 5spds and VE autos.

I guess it might depend on the year as well. Im referring the the 2.5L DOHC V6 thats also in V6 MX-6s and Probe GT's. Those engines are rated at 164hp and 160tq. The newer 626s have a little more HP, 170 with 163tq.

hey

you gotta be careful with accords, alot of them are sleepers. you gotta be even more careful with civics. our CX civic has an integra LS motor in it pushing about 178 hp, that'll TOAST my max. and accords can be made to handle with very little work.

I have a friend who owns a 96 626 V6 and that sucker crawls, you floor it and it has no response at all, it doesn't even come close to my 93 SE.
