zero, none, zip, nada.
unless you're talking about a strip at the top.. if you are, then don't worry about it. unless you can't see out of it or you get a ticket for it- and in that case, THEY must test it to prove your guilt.

Pennsylvania has the worst auto glass tinting laws in the country.

Here they actually will stop you and test to make sure you are compliant.

The cops here have nothing better to do.

I can't wait to move back to NYC.

Here's the trick

What you do is hold a piece of white paper to your windshield and you can tell what your tint is on the windshield. In my case, it is bronze.

Are you getting your windshield replaced due to the winter from hell?

Yes, after two years of living with a spiderweb crack bigger than a silver dollar on my windshield, I am looking into getting it replaced for my b-day (end of May). The crack doesn't leak and it doesn't obstruct my vision, but it sure is fugly. I knew that you had to check what kinda tint the windshield had before replacing it and I wanted to know how to check for it. I had heard about the paper deal before, but I wasn't sure if there was a more accurate way to tell, like from the VIN # or the original sticker, which I haven't looked at yet. Anyways, are there any tints other than bronze? Thanks Prinz for the info.
P.S. the crack happened when a big rock from a truck hit the windshield while the car was traveling at around 65mph. At that point my mom owned the car and sure didn't know anything about getting the hell away from those darn trucks, but now I stay way away from them until I can pass them like a bat out of hell.

All Maximas come with tinted glass. I'm not sure about the 3rd gens, but I know the 2nd gens came with either bronze of blue. It depended on the color of your car.
