how do I fix a broken lug stud?
Hey guys, I got a broken lug stud in the rear wheel. The nut is still on there, I couldn't take it off. Any idea how to brake it loose cuz right now I can't remove the wheel. So which means, I can't get to the hub nor the baffle plate. What should I do? A friend of mine mentioned to use a brake bar with a socket and step on that thing until the lug nut broke loose but wouldn't that damage the hub? Any safer way to do it?

First, how do you know you have a broken stud? Is the lug nut attached, but the stud turns freely? Or are you just unable to turn the lug nut?
It's virtually impossible for you to have a free-spinning stud that prevents the wheel from coming off. I can't imagine this is the case.
If you just have a lug nut that won't turn, then do what your friend suggests. Get a breaker bar and lean on it until the stud breaks. Then replace the stud the normal way. You won't damage the hub. It's made of a much harder steel than the stud, so if the stud does turn a little, it will only damage the stud, which you'll be replacing anyway.
Please elaborate on what your situation is.
