cutting shifter rod
i installed a levoc shifter buy it sits to high on the rod. it is ppushed all the way down but still is up about 2.5 inches to much. is it possibke to cut the rod with the spring to lower it?

manual or auto ? im assuming its manual you can sut it but you better have a tap set to retap the threads. my opinion is NOT to cut it just get a short throw like i did mines fully adjustable so i can pick how high i want it.

all you have to do is cut about an inch or whatever you want out of it and then weld the threaded part back onto the end of it.
A lot of people think that cutting a shifter doesn't shorten the throw, but it does. It isn't the same as the so-called short throw shifters though.
Cutting it means that the end of the shifter turns at a shorter radius (and distance), but it does still have to move the same angle of travel, whereas the storebought shortthrow shifters can lessen the angle of travel.

correct it shortens the throw because the bottom of the shifter sits lower while the top of the rod is shorter therefore shortening the throw
