should a engine shake or not during normal idle
#3
engine shake during idle cant be healthy. then again, it depends on your definition of shaking. slight vibration is normal, especially for a 14 year old engine.
quick revving will cause the engine to jump, or shift, if thats what you are referring to.

Hi,
yes i did experience a power loss, how can i tell which cylinder is misfiring?
i have to mash the pedal in order to get the car going,
i think i have the original wires in my car,
i don't know about the spark plugs they might be original to,
the cap could be original to,

Man, if everything is original, that means they are 14 years old! Change your cap, wires and plugs yesterday! I would also suggest checking your air and fuel filters and changing them if needed. if everything is indeed original, the difference will be like night and day.

Also check your motor mounts. They could be bad if they are original, and bad ones would amplify any vibration that you already had. Non-firing injectors can also cause a cylinder not to fire, which would add to your problem.
