Which mod first

Should I get springs & struts first or wheels & tires, there will be about 6-8 weeks between the mods. Any thoughts?

It depends, I guess I would go with the springs and the struts first. They are a pain in the *** to put in yourself but will save you some cash. I got the Sprint springs and the Spring Tech Struts/shocks for 333 shipped on ebay. I love them about a 2 inch drop and my max is like a new car. I also ran into another deal on ebay and got me some 18" vault wheels for 398 shipped. Then I went over to this tire store and found some Nankang NS-II 225/40/18R for 375. I haven't got to put my wheels on yet because the damn tire shop striped three studs which im bout to replace right now. It depends really if you can find a good deal, don't pass it down.

Being a function over form guy, I'd say do the springs and struts first. An upgraded suspension will make the car handle much better, even on stock wheels and tires, whereas putting larger wheels and tires on a stock suspension won't do much performance-wise and your wheel gap will look bigger. My $0.02.

suspension: struts and springs. lower it. tighten it, dial it in. then get wheels.

The best, first handling mod should be a Front Strut Tower Brace. Less than $100, but significantly improves the body roll through corners. Now that I've got one on my '91 SE, I won't own a car without one. I couldn't believe what it did. It's like a new car. I just put 225/60-15's on my stock rims and it handles great.

he was trying to flip a coin between struts/springs or wheels, i guess. but i agree with you, bill g. the FSTB is awesome. i have a stillen one. the improvement is unbelievable. the car feels totally different with it, even keeping all stock suspension.

the first actual mod i did was CAI.

Allright, I'm the descenting opinion.
Do tires first, A good set of tire will improve ride, handling and traction.
Just don't buy the cheapest ones in that size, Spend some time reading reviews on tire rack and you can find some tires that will make the difference of night and day.

True. You don't want to buy some cheapo tires that last for about 200 miles and have to dish out another ~250 for a set.
BTW internetautmar haven't seen you on the org lately.

Yeah, I was on vacation for a week.
Now it's Passover, and my wifw has been sick. Too much to do and not enough time.
Hopefully things will start returning to normal soon, but not counting on it
