Weird shifting . .

Hey,

My '93 GXE has 125K miles on it, and the transmission is shifting oddly.

Sometimes it freewheels out of first gear, requiring letting up on the throttle until it engages.

Other times, it shifts perfectly.

Any Maxi-brainiacs know what's uP?

Thanks!

-Joe

First guess, its the nylon bushing located at both ends of the shift cable, one is where the cable meets the tranny, the other is above the cat. convertors heat sheild. The bushings usually break and fall off the car.

The other possibility is the throttle positioning sensor has gone bad.
