can i simply buy a digital heat/ac control unit and put it in where my old regular heater controls where? these are digital heater controls for the 89 going into a 90

Yeah, Mike (awsm66) and Craig B. both did the MCC to ACC swap on their Maxes. It is EXTREMELY tedious work....hours and hours. And no, it is NOT just a plug and play deal, you need to install two sensors in your MCC car and hook them up to the ACC unit, plus a zillion wire splices. Check Craig B.'s site for more info. That will REALLY open your eyes!

thanks thats all i needed to know. i just saw one going for cheap on ebay and thought it would look cool in my dash. but if its that much trouble i will just keep my non digital.

awww come on guys its not that bad. It can be done with his write up and a little paitence and time. If you know how to follow wiring diagrams and can solder and tape wires you can do this. Give yourself a full weekend to do it and you will be fine.

To me its well worth it ...of course I did have the help of the wiring master himself...Craig B.
