Between a Rock and a Maxima

[FONT=Arial Black]
I have a 93' SE and it's got the dreaded ticking noise. Not only that, but perhaps even a trans. bearing flatspot also. I hear 2 distinctly different tickings/tappings. The car has 175k miles and it recently started. I just want to know if it is worth keeping the car and fixing, or just saving up and buying the 240 I've always wanted. I can't find any cam's for this car either, any help or info ? Thank you muchly!

Tht only thing i can really help you with is not being able to find cams for the the VE and that is because they don't make them. With a 240 i am in the same spot you are at, i have thought a few time that i would sell my max and return to the sr20 world.

does one of the tickings stop when you pressing the clutch in at a stop

if so its your input shaft bearings

and why do you want cams, do you have all the other bolt ons already like ypipe intake udp flywheel

supposedly its posible to install vg30de NA cams with sime modifying but it supposidly costs like
$1500 and for that kind of money why not put a turbo on

Yeah I know about the whole cam's thing, I was just wondering to see if it was worth building up the VE. As for the ticking, yeah the input shaft bearing is flat spotted. I just want some opinions if the VTC's are worth rebuilding or not...The car is my favorite, but I just don't have the money/time between college and all. Thanks All!
