A few questions

I have a few questions:

1. Are all 3rd gen transmissions interchangable?
( Could a 1994 go into a 1990)
2. What are some signs if you transmission is slipping?
3. What exaclty is a slipping transmission?

As far as my experience with slipping transmissions goes, my friend claimed his focus's transmission was slipping and while he was in drive it was just go into neutral, the stick wouldn't move in the inside, the car would just put itself info neutral...

A slipping trans will (once it's completely hosed) have the RPMs race up between gears. and almost looks like you have a few extra gears.

My transmission is completely slipping now. Basically once it's shot, the RPM's will shoot all the way to redline and your car might not be able to upshift thus forcing you to redline constantly and have your engine smoking for the next three hours ...(dark flashbacks)....
Also when it does change gear it will redline and you'll feel the whole car jumping forward while the upshift takes place. Not fun at all...
