Clutch slipping or tranny problems? ...long

I've been having a problem with my new max ever since I bought it... It didn't happen when I test drove it.. just after it got it home... When I start from a stop the car bucks and hesitates like it isnt hooking up and the power isnt transferring correctly... this also happens when shifting between all the gears unless I give the car some gas and bring the rpms up as I release the clutch...

Also I can't burn out unless I drop the clutch at a high rpm (With my old SE I just had to give it gas in 1st and the front tires would break loose)... If I try to do that with my current SE it just bucks and shudders(but its not for lack of power)

Another thing that I've noticed is that when accelerating at WOT I can feel flat spots in the acceleration.. the car seems to stop accelerating for a fraction of a second and then the acceleration kicks back in...

Would these symptoms indicate a clutch/tranny on the way out or should I look for the source of the problems elsewhere?

Tha tires might not smoke if you have a VLSD (Viscous Limited Slip Differential). I'm not sure if all 94 SE's have it but my Auto does.

that kinda tuff to diagnose without accually driving the car but it could be the clutch but it also could be the ve hesitation issue

is your timing advanced

I have a VLSD.. so did my other maximas... I dont think its the VE hesitation because once it hooks up and stops bucking it goes... I'll have to check the timing but I doubt it is advanced...

about the timing

if you havnt advanced it try because that could clear up the "flat" spots in acceleration
