I've been using for about a year now (the filter I mean) and have noticed an improvement on the ticking, I agree with one of the above posters that it only lasts about 1500 miles or so, depending on conditions. Now I've got a strange other issue I"ve got to worry about, I may post about it later if I can't figure it out...

DO not get STP... something I recently thought of - when you get your oil filter, run your finger on the inside treads - if you come back with metal shavings, find a different brand. I couldn't get my oil filter off this last time... tried as hard as I could, but didn't have an oil filter grip available - and no one else was there. So I figured it's possible that it could be the wrong way, even though I was positive I was doing it the right way - so I checked the new filter - got some metal in my finger, but there was a fair amount of shavings, and quite a bit of aluminum powder.
Once I get my filter off... I'm never using STP again (autozone people said they're all the same, you're just paying for the name - personally of the two -I like fram a whole lot more.)

I had grounded the VTC's before I started using the Toyota filter. Ever since I put the VTC's on a switch (ungrounded), I don't notice much if any ticking. Costs 5.91 at local dealer.

I just put mine on too, didn't notice a huge difference but overall quieter (my VTCs don't tick much anyway). Nonetheless, I am impressed by the quality of this filter, and since I change my filter (and sometimes oil) every 3000 miles, I think I'll stick with it.

Maybe you should talk to him about this

Like I said, I have been using Toyota oil filters from a Lexus dealership for years now on my VG. Never a fitment issue (all work was done in the dealerships bays), works like a charm, and I was getting them along with all my other fluids (tranny & oil) for free. I will put my money on there being more then one type of OEM filter offered by Lexus/Toyota.

Jeff you should know by now that I only use genuine Lexus/Toyota parts on my maxima.

Except for the Mazda studs

Joo using the same exact one specified for the VE above? Or a different x-reference?

Just so you are informed. Don't want to feel responsible for a damaged engine etc..

Highly doubt its the one listed above for the VE as someone already said it could not physically fit on a VG. When I get the chance I will post a pic w/specs of the Lex/Toy filter I am using.

ut oh, big word...
am·big·u·ous adj.
1. Open to more than one interpretation: an ambiguous reply.
2. Doubtful or uncertain: “The theatrical status of her frequently derided but constantly revived plays remained ambiguous”
