New Mod!
#1
I found a clear high pressure hose at the locar hardware shop and thought that it is the right size and that I could use it as a cool custom mod for my car. So I took out the black rad hose and replaced it with the clear one now it looks really cool with the green coolant flowing through it.
To install it I needed a heat gun to make it more flexible to work with. I installed it about a month ago and it works great no leaks and it's holding good. I still have the old hose in the trunk just in case this one pops so far so good. It only cost me $7 for the high pressure high temp hose I think the measurements for the hose are 1 1/4" on the inside and 1 3/4" outside. I am thinking of switching coolants I am going to use the red one so it matches the paint I used in my engine bay.
PS: Coppyright, 94SUPERMAX 2001.

DO NOT USE THE RED COOLANT!!!!!!
It may look cool, but it will damage your engine. I found out from experience. Warranties on new cars are voided if you put this stuff in an engine that's not designed for it- there's got to be a reason why.
This stuff ruined my thermostat & temp sensor, and gummed up my hoses and water pump. I only had the stuff in for a few weeks, and noticed my coolant level int he tank dropping like a rock. I had to add 2 gallons of water/coolant in those few weeks.
Fortunately I only had to clean the water pump and flush the system. but I did have to replace temp sensor and thermostat- both relatively cheap parts compared to a water pump)....
After fixing all the crap it messed up and replacing with regular antifreeze (after 2 complete cooling system flushes), I have no problems loosing water with regular green antifreeze..
Wanna look cool for the next 2 months before you ruin your engine, go ahead and use the red crap.
I think that oughta convince ya.![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
As for the clear hoses, that sounds really cool- as long as they hold for more than a short while. I'd like to see pics sometime.

Thanx for the advice Matt. I will stay with the regular coolant. And the hose is still going strong and does not look like it's going to fall off or burst. I will keep you updated and maybe find a way to post pix on here.
