Y-PIPE illegal in WA state?

hey, I heard that the y-pipe could be illegal in certain areas, some kind of federeal emissions thingy? anybody got some info on this? I have a 1992 gxe auto if that means anything to you. thanks!

No, its fine. It doesn't take off any of the catalytic converter equipment as it does in the 4th and 5th gens..

is there any website whre I can get the info so I can put it on paper. b/c I know shops dont work with exhaust systems...because of those laws. also, how much do shops charge for install

i think cattman talks about it. http://www.cattman.com but you wouldnt have to go to a shop, it just bolts in. they'll never have to know. you could easily do it yourself.
