5 spd and hot weather

We just had a couple of back to back 85-90 degree days. I noticed that after about 30 minutes of driving the car it becomes difficult to shift, especially getting it into first. Has anyone else had this problem? Any remedies? I know a tranny cooler would help but I don't have the cash right now. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

They don't make a tranny cooler for the manual tranny. You should check the gear oil level on your tranny to make sure there is enough in there. Usually when your tranny is warm it is easier to shift, and harder in the cold, strange.

Yea Tranny coolers are for Automatics. If it seems like that it more than likely because your riding the clutch mine did that when I was still kinda learning the clutch.

Get some synthetic transmission fluid like Red Line. I had trouble shifting into 1st for the past 10 years, I changed to synthetic and the problem is gone!

I have a STS and my heat shield is removed. I have the same exact problem when my car warms up. I still havent found a solution yet. Maybe i'll change my tranny fluid and make sure there's enough in there!!!

Sometimes, I can't get into first at all unless i release the clutch and press down on it again. Is this the same problem that you're experiencing??

I think its an STS issue. My parts car didn't do this, but my car does it now. THe only difference is the STS and new gear oil.
