Relay question

What do I use to test the relays under the hood? And what voltage should I get?

If you have to ask.......

try calling your local radio shack. you can buy the proper tools and get hands-on advice for the proper way to test there.

The quickest and easiest way to test a relay is to change the suppected bad relay with a known good relay and see what happens.

Three are suspected (rad fan), and they're 20 bucks each.

find one of the zillion people with a parts car. pick 'em up for a couple of bucks.

and I doubt THREE relays are bad, unless you hoked up your battery backwards or something. even then, it shouldn't hurt a relay...

With the car off, I was pulling out the relay rad fan 3, while I was pulling it out the fans turned on and started spinning for a sec. Everytime I pulled it out a bit the fans turned on. I think I found the culprit.

sounds more like a wire connector than the relay itself. could be a bad solder joint inside the relay as well though.

I took the relay out and went to go buy a new one. But no one had one, so I came home and left the car running and I put the relay in. The fans started and were on for about 25 seconds and then turned off.

Matt, I'm going to check out the wires under the relays right now

Update: I move the wire around that is by the temperature sensor thing for the radiator and the fans turned on!!!!!
