Code # 34.

Hello , There is some information that I am having problem with my car. Today I borrowed one of my friend's computer connector to find the troubleshooter. I might need your opinion as well. Here it is some codes number that needs to be fixed.

1) 34 is the set when ecm detects open or short in knock sensor or circuit common cause for code is corrosion in sensor connector.

2) Sensors are usually reliable check connectors & wiring harness between sensor ecm before testing sensor.

3) disconnector & mesasure resistance between sensor signal terminal & engine ground resistance should be about 0.5 to 0.6 meg OHMS.

There is some numbers of problem with my car lately. The only way I can start up my car when the engine is cold which it runs goods , smooth and a regular horsepower. Now , when the engine gets warm I am losing alot of horsepower , runs rough , ticking real loud and tranny gets slip sometimes. Do you think knock sensor is the major thing to make the engine runs better? There is some list that i already done is tuned up and OS21 ( oxygen sensor ). I am hoping to hear out from you guys that had a experience problem to share with.

knock sensors is definitly part of the problem mainly just making your car slower

if your trannys slipping its proboly going to need a rebiuld soon if the fluid is full

is the ticking your VTC's or somthing else

Damn , I got the knock sensor today at the nissan dealership and it cost me a f*cking expensive which it is $165.00. It tooks me about 4 hours to apart the mainfold intake and mainfold vavle. I can see the knock sensor is cracked , one major problem is that I couldn't get off ( I don't know what it is called) The metal pipe which the knock sensor is under by metal pipe. I might consider to quit fix the car and sell the car for parts but I dont know if it is for sure yet.

gg turbo... gg....

1. that metal pipe is a coolant pipe.

2. you most likely need a special socket to pull that sensor... if not, PB Blaster is your friend.

this makes me happy i have a VG
