Transmission problem!!!!
#1
I was shifting 1st to 2nd and it would not go in then all of sudden the clutch gos to the floor and would not work. I shut it off turned it on it would not work than I pushed done on the clutch and got it in reverse and the clutch stayed on the floor and the transmission was making a bad wine and then I had to put it in first and it made the same wine. My poor max is on main street in a parking space. Is this the clutch because the transmission gos in to gear or is it the whole trans![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Open the hood and look inside the clutch fluid container. If it's real low, put some more fluid in there and pump the cluth pedal. See if that makes the clutch feel firm again. Also follow the clutch line and look for leaks along the line and at the slave cylinder(on the transmission)See if there are any leaks along there.

I thought the same thing but felt that if there was noise from the tranny, then something broke, whether it was the disc or some other mechanical aspect of the assembly. I had an '84 Mazda truck do that to me. When the clutch went, the pedal went to the floor and made funny noises. I was lucky though, it did it pulling into my driveway!!

That's an expensive install! I just receantly went with a Centerforce Dual friction clutch with pressure plate from Nopi. I really like it, you just have to buy the two bearings from Nissan, Centerforce does not provide them but they are not expensive. I also recommend going ahead and changing the gear oil in the tranny to Redline or Royal Purple synthetic, both good but Royal's cheaper.
