HELP! --mainfold problems on a 91SE

[SIZE=2][COLOR=Blue][FONT=Comic Sans MS] OMG help me!!!! I own a 1991 SE and last week I was run off the road! When i came back onto the road i bottomed out and while everything is supprsingly ok structuarlly. . i majorly messed up the exhaust! NOW here's the problem. . . a few years back we had the exhaust changed because well it was getting old and needed done! the guy messed up the connection to the back of the manifold of the engin and the car has been a little louder than normal eversince. . well when i came back onto the road. . i broke that piece completely! SEPPOSIDLY the only way to get to it is to roll the engin forward and re-do the connection! Something about they can't get any tools in there to fix it. . . SO when this all happened last week i took it in to see how much it would be to fix. . . they want $800 bucks! now mind you my car has 153000 miles on it. .and is still running PERFECT! We've owned the car since it was brand new and have taken GREAT care of it. . .I'm going to pick it up tomorrow from the shop and see if i can fix it myself and not have to spend that kind of money. . .maybe i'm a genius and can get a tool in there---very determined here! has ANYONE experianced this same problem with the manifold. .and are there ANY tricks to getting tools up and in there????? i would really appreciate your help. . .also PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO HAS DONE THIS BEFORE!! i'm really in a crunch and if i have to will spend the money because my car really means a lot to me and i don't want to just get rid of it! it still runs perfect! now it's just really loud :*( please contact me on AIM: Ian310 or email me at Ian310@zoominternet.net

sounds like you need a new manifold and new exhAUST STUDS. wlcome to the club i posted something about 10 or so post back and it tells you how to replace your studs( the thing that im presuming the mechanic broke) and then for your manifold. the cheapest i found was 189 new. no you better check your y pipe as well because that is probably busted as well. I say fix it all your self look for the post called

"Manifold Stud Woes"
