Seatbelt warning chime
Seatbelt warning chime
Hi, I know there was a webpage once that detailed instructions on how to shut up our faulty seat belt warning chime, but I don't know where it went. Can somebody please repost a link to it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I thought I remember Craig Brace or somebody had a write-up on how to solder some wires together in the driver side pillar to make the car think that the seat belt was constantly secure, thus getting rid of the random seat belt warning chimes. But Craig's mucho-magnifico site doesn't seem to have it now, or maybe it was somebody else's page. . .

i dont see how a chime makes you safe. if you dont know your shoulder belt is on you are an idiot, the chime doesnt work for the lap belt
I dont ever recall it being on a website - definitely not on mine.
I think RosenKen posted info about how to do it a long time ago. It might be on Bryan Tisch's FAQ page.
You'll just be jumping two wires in a 4 wire connector in the B pillar. It makes the car think the shoulder belt is always plugged in. I had a problem (pretty common) with the light and chime coming on while driving because of this but fixed it.
Maybe I will do a writeup if I have some time this week.

My 1994 Nissan Maxima warranty manual states that the car has a LIFETIME FREE warranty on seatbelts-of course it does not cover crash repair or other abuse. I'd assume that since the belts are motorized, that it would include the belts/retractors/tracks/motors/sensors/etc. But, give the local dealer a call.
I brought my 91 max to the dealer and demanded they fix it since it suppose to have life time warrantee. Of course they refused and said that it only have 10 years war. I call 1-800 customer service number (do not remember - 1-800-NISSAN1 or something like that) and got a confirmation for the service. Bought it the car back 4 times before they finally fix it correctly.
For guarrantee services they asked me to fill out a survey form afterward. I gave them my opinion all right.
