Brake Bleeder pressure?

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what pressure I should put my brake bleeder at to bleed the brakes on my 3rd gen. I don't have a FSM and just don't want to over or under pressurize my lines. Thanks in advance.

i dont think the specific pressure is too important, just that there is vacuum, i just pumped mine about 25 times and it had enough pressure to drop the master cylinder from the max to the min

also only open the bleeder about 1/4 to 1/2 turn and u should be fine

cool thanks, I have to change my rear right caliper (still waiting for fedex to get off their ashs to deliver my parts) I have a pressure brake bleeder which doesn't require pumping the brakes just keeping the line pressurized between 10 and 20 psi.

Which unit? And what do they use to seal the master cylinder? On maximas the cap is huge and hard to seal. Used it already? Becareful of leaks

I will check on that when I get home and let you know. Thanks for the warning.

I have a motive products Powerbleeder, it works great. I just got finished with my brake job. The trick is to not over tighten the wingnuts on top. I just pumped it up to about 15psi and filled it up with brake fluid. Theirs useses a heavy plastic cap that fits over the top of the resivuar and has 2 "J" hooks and a small chain to seal it.

That's the one I copied a few years ago. But the cap was the main problem. I modified a stock one but the cap was too flimsy(won't seal right). I might try to make one like they have on their site. What type of material is on the underside of the cap?

It appears to be a heavy neopreme or rubber washer About 1/4 inch thick. The heavy ABS plastic is very stiff and doesn't flex too much. The trick is to leave the washer dry and not to over tighten the wing nuts. Too much pressure will cause leaks. The whole system is very well made and well worth it. Took me about 20-30 minutes to do the whole job (would have been less if I had a lift and didn't have to remove each tire one at a time etc...
