I didn't want to inturrupt the other thread about his heat gauge.

I have a 1994 Nissan maxima, and recently , well yesterday i was driving and my car power just flickerd off and then back on real quicky. I noticed that my heat gauge was then rising FAST. So I pulled over and turned the car off. I figured out somehow my amp over heated (800watt Pheonix Gold). But as a repercussion to this, whenever I use something electrical in my car such as the windows, brake pedal, pretty much anything. My heat gauge rises when i use them.

*presses window up*
*Heat gauge maxes out hot untill i let go of the window button*

My car isn't actually over heating. but the gauge is really going hay-wire. I was wonder what I can do to fix this, or if this is even possible to fix myself. Thanks.

interesting timing for the amp to fry,
My guess is that whatever circuit you had the amp on is the cause of the problem.
More than likely it's a shorting ground.
You'll need a test light to track down the short, yes you could use a meter but they are much harder to use for this type of work IMHO
