On that tranny, the switch is internal.
The brown & orange wires on the tranny side of the connector both give 12v when in neutral or park. At the tranny ecu, the neutral & park feed is just one wire. If you look at the bottom row of the connector, it's 4th from the left of the locating bolt.
What is the actual problem? If you're getting 12v ex the tranny on either the brown or orange wire, switch is working (uhhh, make sure ignition is on...). If no voltage is getting to the tranny ecu but is at both sides of the tranny connector, you have a short somewhere in the wire.

BIG EDIT: I was wrong! The switch is external - is between the transmission body & the selector lever, which makes it hard to see. Mounts onto the tranny with 3 x 8mm bolts.

hey guys, i went to the junkyard and grabbed a
couple of neutral switches (instead of paying $95 from the dealer
for a new one, what a rip) but i'm not sure if i took out
the right part. can someone take a look at this pic and
tell me if this is the neutral start switch? thanks,

i'm not sure what the problem is, it's for my Dad's car he says that the car
doesn't start in park, only in neutral and he thinks he needs to replace the
neutral start switch so i'm just trying to help him get the part cuz i live near
the junkyard

It could also be worn shifter bushings. common problem that sometimes won't allow the car to start even when you think it's in park. Have him try pushing forward on the shift lever first when it's in park. Just tap it up with the heel of the hand and then try and start it. Mine does that all the time. May not be the answer, but might as well try before you start taking stuff apart..

They look like inhibit / neutral safety switchs - but I don't what car or tranny they're from...
BTW: haven't taken or remember sighting switch from my max either (RE4F02A tranny), but I know it's external as two wire harness's go into the tranny. I know the wire colors etc as have recently added a JDM gear selector replicator to my instrument cluster.
Problem could def be the selector bush - mine wouldn't go into drive unless I put it into 2nd first.

BIG EDIT: I was wrong! The switch is external - is between the transmission body & the selector lever, which makes it hard to see. Only 1 harness goes into the tranny.
