Very Infomative Site!

This is by far the most knowledgeable, helpful, and fun auto enthusiast site I've ever seen.
The Maxima has served me well with the only disabling repairs being a battery cable (DON'T ever accidentally spray electrical components with WD-40.....DOH!) and more recently 2 corroded coolant plugs (had the engine removed for that).
I also had my share of replacement parts: window regulators(5 so far), on my third battery, third set of tires, third set of brake pads.
I've never really PUSHED the Maxima and it has performed great as a daily commuter.
Even though stock (with great maintenance), I've easily out accelerated most hondas, toyotas, fords, and suvs.
However, I'm at the age where wisdom (knowing there's a cop around the corner) far outweighs excitement (blowing the doors off of the late model accord, camry, or prelude).
The Maxima still cruises easily at 90mph+ on empty highways and gets 24-25mpg.
Have Fun and Enjoy!

The OEM Bose system.
All 4 Bose amps and speakers (paper cones!) had to be replaced by the end of 1998.
Now I have new amps and new Pioneer speakers (polypro cones) for the doors and rear deck. Didn't go all out on the sound system upgrades because the Maxima is just used for short daily commutes. Again, I'm impressed by the cool sound systems fellow Maxima enthusiasts on this site had installed. Many had detailed DIY links/instructions.
I had considered the 4th gen Maxima in 96 and more recently the 5th gen. The MAIN reasons I stayed with my ol' reliable 92: The newer gen. are UNGAINLY! Rear BEAM axle, Seemingly lesser quality interiors, lower insurance and license fees with the 92.
Definitely looking forward to the NEW Z: http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caran...w_nissan_z.xml
